A Darlington optocoupler is a series connection of two ordinary optocouplers, one of which is called the input optocoupler and the second is called the output optocoupler. The photodiode in the input optocoupler converts electrical signals into optical signals, and the photosensitive transistor in the output optocoupler converts optical signals into electrical signals. In the Darlington optocoupler, since the two optocouplers are connected in series, the amplification effect of the signal can be greatly enhanced, which makes the Darlington optocoupler have very good amplification effect and linearity characteristics.
