Samsung unveiled its microLED beauty mirror at CES 2025. Report says that Samsung and its partner, South Korea’s leading cosmetics brand Amorepacific have jointly developed the new beauty mirror based on micro LED technology. The beauty mirror integrates a series of artificial intelligence technologies and can analyze the skin features of individual users in just 30 seconds, and recommend makeup and beauty care products that are more suitable for improving the skin condition of individual users.

In fact, Samsung’s new AI-driven MicroLED beauty mirror is not really a mirror, but a surface of aluminum and niobium micro-patterned mirror structure. It has a lower reflectivity than the common type of mirror made of glass. Samsung claims that the mirror reflectivity of the MicroLED beauty mirror is greater than 80%.
So why Samsung utilizes micro LEDs for its beauty mirror? That’s because micro LEDs have much higher brightness than LCD screens. It is said that the MicroLED beauty mirror displayed by Samsung can provide more than 90% light transmittance, and can provide more realistic facial conditions in real time through more realistic images during AI skin analysis, so as to provide more reliable data for accurate judgment of skin conditions.

The newly unveiled Samsung’s MicroLED beauty mirror integrates a series of artificial intelligence technologies to analyze some of the main characteristics of the skin, such as wrinkles, pores, pigmentation and erythema. In addition, through cooperation with the Korean cosmetics brand Amorepacific, the algorithm of this MicroLED beauty mirror is based on more than 20,000 skin diagnoses and data from more than 19,000 users.
Although Samsung’s MicroLED beauty mirror is not the first of its kind, relying on Samsung’s deep display technology and continuously improving AI algorithms, this MicroLED beauty mirror is still expected to become one of the best next-generation beauty devices, and of course it is also a highlight of this CES.

As mentioned above, after a quick scan of the face, Samsung’s MicroLED beauty mirror will analyze four different values of the skin, including pores, wrinkles, melanin (hue) and erythema, and then make a series of cosmetic and beauty product recommendations from data provided by some of Samsung’s cosmetic partners (such as Laneige and Innisfree).
Some users found in actual tests that if the face is covered with thick foundation, it will greatly interfere with the MicroLED beauty mirror’s judgment of skin characteristics, and even obtain a result with four reference data all green. But in this case, Samsung’s MicroLED beauty mirror still accurately analyzed that the user’s skin is too tight and needs to apply some hydrating skin care products, and recommended relevant moisturizers and UV defense sunscreens.
Obviously, this type of product still has a long way to go before it can truly become a must-have for the family. Of course, with the rapid development of LED display technology and the integration of powerful AI technology, we have reason to believe that in the near future, MicroLED beauty mirrors are still expected to become a very practical solution, gradually replacing traditional and expensive beauty and skin care manual consultation services.
