South Korea has taken a significant leap in next-generation filmmaking with the debut of Korea’s largest LED virtual production studio, officially launched inside the StudioCube complex in Daejeon. The new Studio V represents not just a local milestone, but one of the most ambitious VP facilities in the world—signaling the country’s determination to scale up its global presence in high-end content creation.
The opening of this massive VP stage immediately attracted industry attention, not only for its impressive dimensions but for the LED technology powering it. The installation is driven by LG’s purpose-built VP LED system, a cinematic-grade display solution engineered for the increasingly demanding world of in-camera visual effects.

Studio V is designed as a full-featured LED volume, anchored by a J-shaped LED wall stretching up to 60 meters wide and 8 meters high. This scale allows filmmakers to capture sweeping environments, complex action scenes, and lifelike virtual landscapes that are difficult to achieve in smaller volumes.
To support diverse production needs, the studio incorporates mobile LED side walls and a height-adjustable ceiling system. The ceiling is divided into three independent motorised LED sections capable of vertical movement and tilting, giving cinematographers more flexibility in lighting and reflection control.
These modular elements allow the space to be reconfigured quickly—an increasingly important capability as virtual production environments strive for faster turnarounds and higher shooting efficiency.
At the core of Korea’s largest LED virtual production studio is LG’s VP LED solution (model LBCJ026), engineered specifically to meet broadcast and cinematic standards.
Its 7,680Hz refresh rate and 1/8 scan structure help eliminate flicker and scan-line artifacts, ensuring clean, stable imagery even under high-speed camera settings.
Other performance attributes were also tailored for in-camera realism:
These characteristics allow the LED volume to blend naturally with physical sets, maintaining depth, contrast, and colour consistency across real and virtual elements.
To meet global broadcast and VP workflow standards, LG collaborated closely with Brompton Technology throughout system integration. The two companies jointly optimised calibration, colour management, and rendering performance, ensuring seamless synchronisation between the LED display and industry-standard video processors.
This level of integration is critical for modern VP environments, where even minor mismatches in timing, colour, or exposure can disrupt an entire production workflow.
The launch of Studio V showcases South Korea’s broader ambition in media and entertainment. As K-content continues to reach global audiences at scale, investment in advanced VP infrastructure has become a strategic priority—fueling more cinematic storytelling, improved production efficiency, and higher technical standards.
On a global level, Studio V reflects a growing shift toward VP stages built with purpose-engineered LED systems rather than repurposed rental panels. Filmmakers now demand solutions optimised for camera interaction, colour fidelity, refresh rate stability, and mechanical flexibility—attributes fully embodied by LG’s VP LED system.

With its combination of scale, flexibility, and camera-oriented LED performance, Korea’s largest LED virtual production studio represents a new benchmark for immersive content creation in Asia and beyond. Powered by LG’s advanced VP LED technology, Studio V is poised to support the next wave of globally-oriented filmmaking—bringing richer visual worlds, more efficient workflows, and dramatically expanded creative possibilities.
